Older Sea Man
About the Job
We’re casting a weathered, older man (roughly 55–75) to play a lone explorer in a short, eerie black-and-white film. Think vintage fisherman, old sea captain, or a man who has spent his life chasing something he’s never found. He has a lived-in face with deep lines, a grizzled beard or stubble, and a presence that feels like it belongs to another era. The role is non-speaking and carried by physicality and expression. He trudges down a rain-soaked beach clutching a map, reaches the shore, and reacts with growing dread as something enormous emerges from the sea. We need someone who can show a lot with a little: quiet determination at first, then disbelief, then real fear as he drops the map and runs. Ideal qualities: Rugged, authentic look that reads well on black-and-white film Expressive eyes and strong reactions without dialogue Comfortable shooting outdoors in wet, cold, or windy conditions on the beach Able to run short distances on sand Actors and non-actors are welcome. Real fishermen, sailors, and characters with interesting faces are encouraged to apply.
